ceo's on the move - program structure and content

Drake International has partnered with The CEO Institute to enrich their CEOs On The Move™ initiative. The CEOs On The Move™ initiative provides Senior Executives with an appropriate peer support network and experiential learning environment to keep them "job ready", as they journey towards finding their next career opportunity.

As part of the CEOs On The Move™ initiative, Drake has developed a Career Optimisation and Personal Development Program to provide CEO's with the core support and assistance necessary to manage the transition and ensure a focus on moving forward. The program will offer CEO's support and assistance whilst allowing them to stay connected and continue learning, in the time between departing from one role and commencing a new role.

The objective of the Career Optimisation and Personal Development Program is to assist CEOs experiencing the challenges of a career transition to:

  • Build self awareness
  • Identify future career opportunities
  • Develop a career plan
  • Discover learning and development gaps
  • Address learning and development needs

Based on a modular format > , the Career Optimisation and Personal Development Program is designed to offer participants complete flexibility whether they wish to participate in all modules or to select only those they feel will most benefit their career aspirations. For those individuals who wish to participate in the full Program (all six modules) a discount will be applicable. In addition, they will also be entitled to participate in up to three complimentary Drake Training courses.

Following is a list of the modules offered in the Program.

Managing the emotional impact of the change

Change is often a difficult process and this module is designed to support the specific needs of the participant to manage the transition. During the session, a Drake consultant will assist the participant to assess the impact of the change and how best to manage their response to it.

Personality & Behavioural Assessment

The CEO will have the opportunity to complete a Drake P3, which is a behavioural and personality assessment tool. A Drake consultant will provide the CEO with feedback on their results, providing them with an increased awareness of their individual skills and strengths. The CEO will also gain a better understanding of their motivators and de motivators, decision making styles and leadership styles.

Career Development Planning

Research shows that individuals are more satisfied and more productive when they perform a role and tasks that they find interesting. This module incorporates a vocational career planning assessment. Having completed the assessment, the CEO will receive feedback on their results, assisting them to make career choices that are in line with their personal strengths and motivations. This valuable assessment will help the CEO identify future career options consistent with their interests, choose appropriate career paths in line with their education and training, and learn about preferences with leadership, risk taking and teamwork.

Resume and Letter Application

CEOs will have their resume reviewed by an expert and receive feedback on areas such as: resume presentation and content, identifying the hidden job market and responding to job applications. The Drake consultant will assist the CEO with subsequent drafts until the resume is complete.

Reverse Marketing

A Drake Executive consultant will meet with the CEO for a private and thought provoking session to discuss potential career opportunities and prospective employers of choice for the individual. It is commonly known that within the senior end of the recruitment cycle, career opportunities on offer are more limited and are therefore required to be more targeted with smarter directed initiatives and this can be done via reverse marketing. Reverse Marketing is the reverse of what might be expected to happen in a recruitment business and the individual is marketed to a selected and targeted potential employer. For the members of the institute who are currently in a career transition phase, this strategy becomes quite useful in offering a range of what could be potentially unseen or unknown opportunities.

Interview Techniques

The CEO will gain specialised knowledge on how to improve their performance in interviews. They will receive advice on areas such as: interview preparation, practical behavioural interviewing and responding to difficult questions. Using role play scenarios, the Drake consultant will help the CEO to maintain expectations and normalise any anxieties they may be experiencing in regards to future interviews.
